Education for the youngest members of our church family
At Bethany Lutheran Church we believe quality Christian Education requires shared responsibility. Our goal is to partner with children and families, fostering a relationship with God by learning and living God’s word.
We help achieve our Baptismal promises and implement core beliefs of the Lutheran religion through Bible stories, fellowship, and fun.
Sunday School is a time for children to explore Bible stories and complete fun activities with their friends! Students start each Sunday in their classroom. They return to the sanctuary to participate in communion and resume worship with their families. Some "high holiday" Sundays students will attend the entire service.
We also invite Sunday School students to join the cast of our Christmas and Spring dramas. This is a musical extension of our curriculum and a time to learn the lessons through dramatic expression. Leading up to these performances, we gather the children to practice after Sunday School, during fellowship hour.
While children of all ages are welcome to receive communion at our church without taking a class, we do offer a class for families to learn about communion. This class is for children who have received communion and for those who have not. Both ways are acceptable. We support whatever your family decides for your children. We would like a parent to join in with their son or daughter during the class time.
Bethany Kids is our K -5th grade youth group. Students meet weekly to make friends, learn about God, and connect with their faith through interactive games and projects.
Vacation Bible School is a fun opportunity for kids to make new friends, play creative games, and have surprising adventures safely. Stay tuned for 2025 VBS info!
