Each holiday season, Bethany’s Social Action team helps bring Christmas joy to families in our community through the Bethany Family Christmas ministry. In partnership with Husmann Elementary School, Bethany works closely with the school’s social worker to identify families who could use a little extra support during the holidays.
Through this ministry, Bethany shoppers are paired with children from these families and purchase Christmas gifts especially for them. The parents receive a Walmart gift card, ensuring they can also share in the joy of giving. All shopping expenses are reimbursed through the church’s general budget, and clear instructions are provided to each shopper.
The gifts are brought to the church for Wrapping Day on Sunday, December 15, when volunteers gather for a few hours of fellowship, coffee, and cheerful wrapping. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the spirit of giving together as a church family.
