Last night, Bethany Lutheran Church was filled with fellowship, collaboration, and generosity during the first-ever Neighbors McHenry County Silent Auction. We are thrilled to share that the event raised over $6,000 to support families legally seeking asylum.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who donated, bid, volunteered, or came to support this important mission. Special thanks to Lanet Cunningham, who served as the Bethany point person, and Carolyn Whaples, who led the kitchen and coffee/snacks crew. Your leadership and dedication helped make the night run smoothly and joyfully.

Guests enjoyed a festive evening of fellowship, featuring hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and Bingo. Bidding was lively across more than 110 auction items, including:

  • A week at a house on Washington Island, Door County, WI

  • Blue Lapis & diamond stud earrings and necklace

  • Gift cards to local businesses

  • A baklava-making demonstration and tasting

  • Classes at a Pilates studio

  • Original artwork (acrylic, oil, and watercolor)

  • Gift baskets filled with treats for personal care, pets, children, spirits, coffee, tea, books, and more

  • A day of sailing on Crystal Lake

  • Legal estate services

  • An antique wicker rocker

  • And so much more!

We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated food, time, talents, and treasures. You truly showed God’s love in action, reaching across communities to lift up our neighbors in need.

If you were unable to attend but still wish to support the cause, donations are still welcome. Visit trinitymchenry.org/give or text STANNS to 73256. Please be sure to select "Neighbors" from the Fund dropdown menu.

Thank you again for helping make a difference!
