My journey at Bethany Lutheran Church began in August 2015, after previously serving at Gilbert Lutheran Church in Gilbert, Iowa. I graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary, and before ordained ministry, I was deeply engaged in youth and family ministry at First United Lutheran in Sheboygan, WI. I also taught elementary school and coached high school volleyball, experiences that have shaped my approach to ministry. I am married to Tom, and together we have two adult children, Aaron and Mitchell. We experienced the heartbreaking loss of Mitchell last year, and his spirit remains a cherished part of our lives.
My leadership is grounded in honest, caring relationships, and I am passionate about helping the Bethany community embrace its identity in Christ. I aim to encourage us all toward innovative ways of connecting with each other and the wider community. Expand the Table, our initiative, represents this vision; a commitment to inclusivity, service, and partnership, creating space for everyone to feel at home.
When you visit Bethany, I hope you find a place where you can truly relax and feel at ease, knowing you are welcome just as you are. Come as you are, you are invited!
