Hi, I’m Pastor Katie!
I serve as Lead Pastor at Bethany Lutheran Church, where I love helping build a community of belonging; one where people can ask real questions, grow in their gifts, and encounter God’s love in ways that shape both our lives and the world around us.
I graduated from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. I am passionate about eco-theology, contemplative spirituality, and community life rooted in the dignity of every person. Those passions continue to shape my work, especially as I help connect faith with daily life and foster intergenerational relationships grounded in justice, creativity, and compassion.
Before Bethany, I served as a vicar at St. Paul Lutheran in Villa Park and worked across the Midwest in ecumenical ministry, mentoring, music, and community organizing. Those experiences deepened my conviction that ministry happens wherever people gather to share stories and care for one another.
Outside of church, I enjoy time in nature, singing, crafting, and walks with my spouse, Sadie, and our pets. I trust that God meets us in both ordinary and sacred moments, and I’d be honored to hear your story.
