Dear Bethany Congregation,
I invite you to join me in praying for Pastor Cathy as she has decided to step down from her role as Senior Pastor at Bethany Lutheran Church. She and Tom will be moving to Madison, Wisconsin. While this marks a significant transition for our congregation, we are profoundly grateful for her faithful service and the countless ways she has enriched both our church and the broader community.
In the coming weeks, we will prepare to celebrate Pastor Cathy’s ministry and bid her farewell. Please mark your calendars for her celebration party on Sunday, February 2, immediately following the 9:00am service. Many of you have asked how you can help. Here are some ways to get involved:
- Volunteer for the farewell party: Help with setup, takedown, or bringing a food item.

Next Steps
As we celebrate Pastor Cathy and wish her and Tom all the best, please know that preparations are well underway to guide our congregation through this time of transition:
- Interim Pastor: Pastor Jen Beamsley, Assistant to the Bishop, is actively seeking an Interim Pastor, and we aim to have someone in place by mid-March.
- Call Process: Planning for the call process has begun, with the goal of having it fully in place before Easter.
Bethany’s strength as a congregation has been evident time and again through your dedication, flexibility, and resilience. I am confident we will navigate this transition with the same faith and unity that define our church family.
