What a beautiful day for the Bethany Apple Bash! With perfect fall weather, a delicious barbecue, music, games, and plenty of laughter, Sunday’s celebration was everything we hoped it would be, and then some.
The afternoon centered around a delicious potluck, with BBQ pork as the star of the show and plenty of sides to go around. Allie Hulen kept us entertained with her beautiful folksy music while kids ran, played, explored, and enjoyed all the fun. Most of all, it was simply wonderful to see our congregation relaxing together, catching up with one another, and enjoying the gift of a beautiful autumn day.
And, as always, events like this don’t just happen. We are grateful for all the people who helped set up tables, decorations, food, activities, and everything in between, and for the crew who stayed afterward to clean it all up. It takes a lot of hands to make a day like this happen.
Of course, we would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge the uninvited guests at this year’s Apple Bash: the bees. They made their presence known throughout the afternoon and seemed particularly interested in joining us for dessert. Thankfully, we didn’t hear of anyone getting stung, so we’re calling it a peaceful coexistence, with the bees invited to find their own barbecue next year.
