To the Congregation of Bethany Lutheran Church,
Greetings! My name is Katie Mueller, and I am awaiting my first call as a pastor in the ELCA. I have been engaged in the call process with your community, and it has been inspiring to witness the Spirit at work among your congregation during this time of discernment.
I recently graduated with my MDiv from Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. In my ministry, I strive for holy joy, care, belonging, justice for marginalized people, and an ecofeminist spirituality. I am passionate about both traditional and innovative approaches to worship and enjoy accompanying people of all ages as they explore their spiritual identities and discern who God is calling us to be as a beloved community in the world.
Originally from south-central Illinois, I now live in Hyde Park with my partner Sadie and our variety of pets. I earned my bachelor's degree in Religious Studies and Music from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. In my free time, I enjoy painting, songwriting, poetry, and cooking, as well as dancing, swimming, hiking, biking, and sharing good food and laughter with friends and loved ones.
I'm excited to learn more about the Bethany Lutheran Church community. I have been praying for an abundance of Christ's peace for you all and am grateful for the opportunity to connect with your church. I look forward to meeting you soon!
With Peace,
Katie Mueller
