The Call Committee is currently on a bit of a hiatus during the Advent season. We will be getting back together after January 1st…more on that in a few paragraphs!

A few months ago, the congregation was asked to fill out a second survey that asked the question: “As you consider the ministry of your congregation, please identify the five most crucial tasks to be taken up by your next pastor?”. That question was followed by a list of 35 identified tasks that you were asked to pick you top 5 tasks from. The top ten vote getters are:

  1. Preaching/Worship Leadership
  2. Ministry in Crisis
  3. Youth and Family Ministry
  4. Building a Sense of Community
  5. Administration
  6. Interpret Theology
  7. Music/Worship/Arts
  8. Pastor Care and Visitation
  9. Children’s Ministry
  10. Multicultural Ministry

Next up for our Call Process is to provide an opportunity for you to speak directly to the Call Committee and to each other. We will be holding three guided listening sessions in early January to give you that opportunity.

The sessions will be held on:
Wednesday, January 7 at 10 a.m. – This session will be in place of the Wednesday Bible Study

Wednesday, January 7 at 7 p.m.
Sunday, January 11 following the 9 a.m. worship.

These meetings will be 45 minutes long and questions will be provided to you before the meetings to ponder!

With Prayers for a Joyous Christmas and a Blessed New Year,

Paul Petersen, Interim Pastor
