More About Christian Education

Our Worship Service

Bethany is a traditional worshipping community. We have a deep love and passion for hymnody and liturgy, but we also like to be creative and inventive within the framework of our traditional services. We place a high value on music, and our worship space features one of the best pipe organs in McHenry County! If you come on a Sunday, you're likely to hear one of our wonderful vocalists as well as a Gospel-filled message from one of our pastors.

Open Communion Policy

Bethany has an open communion policy. We believe that the Communion Table is the Lord's Table and so we welcome all baptized persons to come and partake in the free gift of grace, the body and blood of Christ, which we receive in the bread and the wine. Baptized children are welcome to communion at the discretion of the parent(s).

Dress

People come to Bethany with clothes ranging from casual to formal. You'll often see people in suits and ties talking with teenagers in their shorts and T-shirts! We don't care what you wear; we'll just be glad you've come!

Pandemic Protocol

In accordance with the CDC guidelines, McHenry County Covid-19 spread has been deemed substantial, and thus mask wearing in public indoor spaces is recommended for everyone. Masks will be required inside the church building. We thank you for your patience and the compassion you have shown and continue to show your neighbors throughout this pandemic.  Please pray for our church leaders as they continue to navigate changes in the pandemic.

We ask that you please keep the following in mind on Sunday mornings:

  • When you attend worship please be mindful of your neighbors, and ask before sitting within six feet of another worship attendee.
  • The far right section of pews in the sanctuary (as you’re facing the altar) will have pews reserved for social distancing.
  • We will continue to live stream the 9am worship.
